Dark labyrinth
Controls
- WASD/Arrow Keys - Move Camera
- R - Restart
Objective : Get your player character to the exit.
You can choose to play either as the witch or the golem by clicking on their respective art on the title screen.
How to Play
Select a tile card from your hand (the bottom 5 cards on the screen) and then click on one of the arrows to push it into the grid in that arrow's direction at that position.
Each time you push a tile into the grid, the player character will try to move as close as possible to the Exit. Each tile they step on will be activated (unless it has already been activated) and will do a range of effects. Card effects on the grid can only be seen when a light is above it. Each turn each non-static light will move to reveal a different tile.
There are 5 levels and your score is how much coinage you get by the end of the game.
Soundtrack
Since this game was made during the 1bit jam, we used 1bit music written for the beeper on a ZX Spectrum. Although a beeper only has on or off states, different frequencies (or combinations of frequencies) are simulated with an effect called pulse frequency modulation. The composer asks that you tolerate the buzzy tone quality of the music in light of its authenticity. The original .TAP files are available and can be played with a ZX Spectrum emulator such as FUSE.
